About Fillers
Fillers are a safe gel injected with a fine needle that provide volume and lift to the areas of injection. Fillers are a wonderful alternative to more invasive rejuvenating surgical procedures. They are incredibly versatile, subtle when you need it to be, bold when you want it to be, and super effective when skillfully injected by a qualified surgeon. Dr. Waterman only uses the highest quality fillers available, manufactured by premiere pharmaceutical companies, Allergan and Galderma.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is the active compound in the dermal Fillers we use. HA is a natural compound found in skin cells and other cellular membranes throughout the body. Normally, HA helps transfer water across membranes, maintaining an osmotic balance so cells do not rupture. When concentrated and suspended in a gel, it is made to be more stable and long-lasting. HA provides the plump you need by gently absorbing water, giving a natural fullness wherever it is injected.
HA dermal fillers are considered to be the safest dermal fillers. While risks associated with injection like obstruction of blood vessels are serious, and you should seek a skilled injector to minimize these risks, HA fillers are reversible with the use of an "antidote" injection.
Results typically last between 6 months and a year.
